OEM Toyota – Can be adapted to fit 40 and 60 Series Land Cruisers This transmission will bolt to a 2F bellhousing, and uses a 2F clutch assembly. Requires use of a split transfer case built 10/1982 or later. Those transfer cases were made with a provision for a 5th gear oiler, which is necessary with this transmission. Depending on your particular application, any number of driveline modifications may be required, since this transmission is longer than the H41/42 4 speed. Also, be aware for 40 series built before 10/1980 that the transfer case does not have a parking brake option for the output shaft, so you will have to come up with a parking brake solution. This transmission is originally intended for the HJ60 Land Cruiser, so it has a 60 series transmission top plate. The shifter location is different for 40 series, so transmission tunnel modifications will be necessary, as well as the transmission cross member.
